For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,  I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

"Affirmations to the Community" started on July 2, 2025, from a profound sense of compassion for those in the community. Attention was first drawn to the thirst and discomfort of people on  bus route, struggling with the heat and drenched in sweat. What began with sharing a few frozen water bottles expanded when the immense need was realized. Soon, even on off days, I began carrying a cooler to offer water to more people. This evolved further as encouraging chalk affirmations were left on the sidewalks, aiming to uplift spirits and spread positivity.

 

In addition, "Affirmations to the Community" is building a deeper connection with the community by  providing direct, practical warmth during the cold seasons. Original designed hoodies will be given away bi-monthly to people at bus stops during the winter and fall months. I am also offering the hoodies as well as t-shirts, mugs and hat to serve as a tool to support local non-profits. 20% of proceeds, from merchandise sales goes to local non-profits that directly housing people without homes with safe housing, and wraparound serves.  My prayer is that we all are able to see together with the eye of God. We are all in this together.
